The Design Process
Every project begins with a brief phone consultation to review your goals, scope, and timing. If it’s a good mutual fit, a complimentary on-site meeting follows to explore your vision, budget, and the level of support needed. From there, Liz provides a written proposal outlining recommended services, deliverables, and estimated fees.
Design services are available on an hourly basis at $125 per hour or through materials purchased through Liz Whitney Designs. As a general reference, large bathroom renovations typically begin in the $50,000–$60,000 range, and complete kitchen remodels in the $80,000–$100,000 range, inclusive of labor and materials.
Phase One — Conceptual Design & Planning
Typically spanning two to three meetings, this phase establishes the design vision and overall project framework. It includes site measurements, design concepts, preliminary budgeting, floor plans, elevations, and a written Scope of Work. These documents support contractor bidding and help define the overall project budget.
Phase Two — Design Development & Construction Support
Liz works closely with your contractor to refine details and guide key decisions throughout construction. This phase includes detailed drawings, vendor sourcing, and review of storage, lighting, finishes, and fixtures.
Throughout the process, Liz remains a consistent point of contact—ensuring clarity, continuity, and the integrity of the design.
